📋 Terms of Service

Last updated: April 2026

By creating a Reakto account or using the service, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully — they are short and written in plain language.

⚠️ Important safeguarding notice

Reakto is a classroom wellbeing check-in tool, not a crisis intervention service, clinical platform, or substitute for professional mental health support. The keyword-flagging system is a first-signal aid only — it cannot detect all concerning disclosures, and it may flag notes that are not genuinely concerning.

When a check-in is flagged, teachers are expected to follow their school or organisation's own safeguarding procedures, involve their Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) where appropriate, and use professional judgement. Reakto does not replace those procedures. You must not rely on Reakto as the sole means of identifying students at risk.

Safeguarding alert emails are best-effort and may be delayed, throttled, or not delivered at all due to email-provider issues outside our control. Treat the in-app Flagged inbox as the source of truth and check it at least once per teaching day.

If you believe a student is in immediate danger, contact emergency services immediately.

1Who can use Reakto

Reakto is intended for use by teachers, educators, and other school staff ("teachers") who create accounts and manage courses. Students interact with Reakto anonymously and do not create accounts. By registering, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and are using the service in a professional educational capacity.

2Teacher responsibilities

  • You are responsible for the courses you create and the students you invite.
  • You must follow your school or institution's safeguarding and data protection policies when using Reakto.
  • You must not share your account credentials with others.
  • You must not use Reakto to collect data beyond what is needed for educational wellbeing purposes.
  • You must acknowledge and act on flagged check-ins promptly in accordance with your safeguarding duties.

3Student anonymity

Reakto is designed so that students submit check-ins without an account or name. We do not link check-ins to individual students in our database. Teachers see aggregated emotion data and optional free-text notes, but not who wrote them.

Note that in a small class, a teacher who reads a free-text note alongside the timestamp may be able to infer the author. Anonymity is a design goal, not an absolute guarantee. Do not ask students to include identifying information in their notes, and remind students that what they write is read by the teacher.

4Data and privacy

Use of Reakto is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Check-in data is retained for 90 days by default and then automatically deleted. Teachers may delete their courses and associated data at any time.

5Acceptable use

You must not use Reakto to:

  • Violate any applicable law or regulation.
  • Collect or process data about minors outside of your professional educational role.
  • Attempt to identify anonymous student submissions.
  • Reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the service.

6Service availability

Reakto is provided "as is" without warranty of availability or fitness for a particular purpose. We may suspend or discontinue the service at any time with reasonable notice. We are not liable for any loss resulting from service unavailability.

7Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Continued use of the service after notice of changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We will always update the "last updated" date at the top of this page.
